March 2023

God so loved the world that he gave His only Son, so that whosoever believes in Him will have everlasting life: John 3:16

A MESSAGE FROM OUR FOUNDERS

An Open House has been set!

The planning is almost complete for our open house! An afternoon very soon will be set aside from 1pm to 4pm at our offices at 1925 E. Beltline Road, Suite 484, Carrollton, Texas, 75006. We hope you will come visit us, see where we work, interview, and pray with clients, and ask any questions you might have about our ministry.

Refreshments will be served!

We'd like to recognize those generous people who have chosen to continue contributing to this ministry by sending monthly or one-time contributions by cash or check to Housing Help by John 3:16, P.O. Box 110702, Carrollton, Texas, 75001.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT: Margaret, Covenant Church, Bob, Mary, Gloria, Cindy, Evelyn, Alice, Deborah, Pamela, Pat, Ellen, and Joyce. With your help, we were able to help eight (8) families during the month of March.

Fortunately, Texas Rent Relief stepped in and took approximately 70,000 applications for rental and utility assistance in just a few short days. That relief is over now, so we are again scrambling to help people, if we can.

1 John 3:17 (NIV) If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? (John writes "Dear childred, let us not love with words or speech, but with actions and in truth".)

A SAMPLING OF OUR MARCH 2023 OUTREACH:

March 6: We helped Ricky (47) with $350 towards his rent at Hunter's Hill Apartments. He has had a difficult few months - his elderly father passed away recently from Covid and Ricky lost his job at Express Auto. He recently started working at City Garage making $18/hour as a Certified Inspecter, but his savings were depleted. He's doing his best to get back on his feet financially.

March 6: $350.00 was paid to Carrollton Park Apartments to help Brittany (32) with her rent. She has a three year old son and is receiving $220/month child support. She has been working at a Plano U.S. Post Office making $26/hour for six years when she was placed on leave unexpectedly with no pay. She has filed her taxes for 2022 and is waiting on a refund while she looks for another job.

March 10: We paid $252.85 to Amigo Energy to help Ingrid (23) with the electric bill for the apartment she shares with her mom and dad. Her dad had been laid off and was unemployed for about 2 months. Ingrid and her mom both work and have been covering most of the bills to the best of their ability. Ingrid works at XL Pro Staffing making $17/hour, and her mom works as a server at a restaurant.

March 10: $350 was paid to Bella Vista Apartments on behalf of Jaleh (44). She had immigrated from Iran through Australia, has a 5-year-old son, and her husband is trying to get to the U.S. from Australia. She currently works in home health care making $9.30/hour, has completed her education to become a certified nurse and hopes to find a better job soon. She hopes her husband makes it here soon.

March 21: $350 was paid to RWD Phase II Apartments to help Aquisha (33). She had left her job at ADT Security dispatching police, fire and patrol officers to catastrophic occurrences. She found another job at Chase in their Loyalty Department, but the new job but the new job doesn’t start until April 3. Prince of Peace Lutheran helped her with $500 and gave her a Bible – her first! We helped her with the remaining $350 needed to pay this month's rent and a book on "How to Find it in the Bible". She left our office with relief and a smile on her face!
